Starting 17 November 2026, Chef Karl Wilder is exploring Buenos Aires to create The Chef Tours’ newest culinary experience. For two weeks only, you can join the exploration at a special founding-guest price and help decide what makes the final tour.
On 1 December, Buenos Aires Confidential officially launches as a completed chef-led experience.

Option 1: Join the Exploration, 17–30 November
The tour before it becomes a tour
Price: $99.00 per person
This is your chance to see how a chef-led food experience actually comes together. Instead of following a finished itinerary, you will join Chef Karl as he explores Buenos Aires, discovers local places to eat and drink, meets the people behind the food, and works out which discoveries deserve a place in the final experience.
We will start at the Obelisk and explore from there. The route, stops, and dishes will develop as we go. Some discoveries will make the final tour. Others will not. That is the point.
You are not simply taking a food tour. You are getting an inside look at the process of creating one, with the opportunity to share your opinions and help shape what comes next.
The exploration is deliberately offered at a much lower price than the finished experience. You are joining during the development stage, when flexibility and feedback matter more than a fixed itinerary.

This is for curious travellers who enjoy discovery and do not mind a little uncertainty. If you want to know every stop before you book, choose the completed tour instead.

This experience is for curious eaters, adventurous travellers, and people who enjoy being part of something before it’s polished and packaged.

Option 2: Buenos Aires Confidential, From 1 December
The discoveries become the experience
If you prefer a finished experience, Buenos Aires Confidential launches on 1 December 2026.
After two weeks of exploring, tasting, meeting people, and refining the route, Chef Karl will bring the completed experience to life. The result will be a small-group culinary journey through the food, wine, stories, and people that make Buenos Aires distinctive.
As with our other chef-led experiences, the emphasis is on discovering the city through the people who know it, rather than following a generic tourist itinerary. The food is the starting point for a deeper understanding of the place.
Buenos Aires Confidential is for travellers who want more than a checklist of famous dishes. It is for people who are curious about what locals eat, where they go, and the stories behind the things they love.
The completed tour will have a defined itinerary, unlike the exploratory experience. Its final stops and inclusions will be confirmed before booking.

Why Is the Exploration So Much Cheaper?
Because you are joining us before the finished tour exists.
The exploration is a limited development-stage experience. You will be part of the process, rather than simply enjoying the finished result. The route and food stops are still being evaluated, and your feedback can help us decide what belongs in the final tour.
The lower price reflects that difference. It does not mean the exploration is a conventional food tour at a discount, and it does not mean the completed experience will be identical to what you encounter during development.
There are only six places available per departure, and the exploration is limited to the two weeks before launch.
