Chef PJ’s Lair

Do yourself a favour and book this one-of-a-kind food tour with Chef PJ. It was a major highlight of my trip to France, and I will never forget my time with PJ. I had an absolute blast on this tour— PJ is hilarious, talented, energetic, informative, and, above all else, passionate. His passion for food and French cuisine is contagious and greatly deepened my appreciation for the culture. You will explore Montmartre, which PJ explains feels like a separate place from Paris. We learned all about how to detect quality in your food, from reading labels to studying the exterior of a shop. We tasted several treats before dining for hours at PJ's tiny and wonderful restaurant, Le Petit Moulin. We also tried many wines and learned about how to properly enjoy wine. You may end up a little drunk by the end of this day 😀 Just be warned that if you travel to Paris in August, as I did, the majority of places are closed for summer vacation. We still had plenty to do, but I did not know about the mass closures ahead of time. I was a solo traveller and found it very easy to bond with the other travellers (mostly couples)

This is a super fun tour; it’s a long one so go well-rested! Chef PJ is very knowledgeable as well as entertaining! He took us to quite a few places, giving us history and tips along the way. We ended up at his adorable and wonderful petite restaurant and really enjoyed all the food he prepared, the cheeses and the plentiful wine! He even accommodated a vegetarian, which was greatly appreciated! He is clearly well-known and liked in the area - he seemed to know everyone. If you have the time, this is a tour you definitely want to do, especially if you like food, wine, local expertise, great stories and being entertained! Also, considering the price of the tour, it is a great bargain!

Chef PJ is amazing! He grew up in the area and knows everything about it. He is so knowledgeable and entertaining, kept us laughing all day! The food and wine were incredible, beyond our expectations! We will do this tour again when we come back to Paris! One of the best highlights of our trip!
