On October 31, I will be in Dublin, Ireland, cooking for 11 hours in front of a live audience. The cookathon can be viewed on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn live. This is to benefit Secret Street Tours, an organisation that brings up formerly homeless folks as tour guides to not only show you the city, but also give you a perspective on what you are seeing.
The very next day, I will begin my journey to Buenos Aires, where the Mystery Tour will begin. We are calling it that because, for the first two weeks, we are inviting guests behind the scenes to help us build the tour. This empanada or that one? This Malbec or that one? Instead of asking how we choose our venues, you can be a part of that choice. After November 17, the tour will be fixed. It will be a unique experience, as no other food tour company has invited guests behind the scenes. Those searching for unique things to do while living like a local will be part of this.
Besides creating the best food tour in Buenos Aires, I am looking forward to this for other reasons. The city itself is magnificent, with Theatre like London, cafe culture like Paris, and a diverse population like Berlin. I will be experiencing Buenos Aires beyond the tourist attractions and living there for 6 months. It is already a city I am familiar with and love.
What is the best area to explore in Buenos Aires?
There are so many, but I love the charm of San Telmo. Soccer Clubs, Cafes, Restaurants, Galleries, Flea Markets, and so much more.
How costly is Buenos Aires?
It is no longer the bargain vacation it once was. Inflation has stabilised, but prices never come down. Still, if you have dollars, euros or pounds, you can have a great time without breaking the bank.
